Louisa van Vessem - Workflow Virtual

Hi! I'm Louisa and I am the founder of InclUSion.

This community is all about connection and progression.  It’s a celebration of who we are, coming together to share ideas, thoughts, and support and the return on investment is that you will gain clarity and confidence, and develop friendships with awesome people.

Whether you’re trying to figure things out or you want to feel like you belong (quirks and all), this is the group for you.  A place where you will feel valued and appreciated.  No more feeling like a number because I want to get to know YOU for who you are and what you stand for.

Why the name InclUSion?

Quite simply, I hate it when people feel excluded.  I tick lots of different boxes and even though labels don’t bother me because they give me clarity and when I meet others with a matching label, we can relate to one another, I know there can also be negativity towards some labels and that can leave people feeling isolated and misunderstood.

Everyone is welcome in this community and we celebrate diversity.  We’re all unique and that’s exciting.  Let’s learn from our individual ways of thinking and working.

I’ve been fortunate to work in Canada, France and Australia.  I’ve also been lucky enough to travel and experience lots of different cultures and that really opened my eyes because those opportunities were so diverse and it made me think about my own values, what’s important to me and what matters.

I know what you're probably thinking... "I'm in enough groups, I don't want or need another!"

Yes, I get it, there are lots of communities out there aimed at specific types of people and those are awesome for connecting with like-minded people.  I can relate because I know they help me too but the focus is often very specific.

This community is there to help you personally and professionally.  You will gain guidance, advice and ideas from me but I will also facilitate conversations between the rest of the community.

I’m talking about those of you that are neurodiverse, suffer from illnesses and disabilities, introverts, people of different backgrounds, colour, religion and sexuality.  It’s about bringing together a group of diverse people and celebrating the way we think rather than following the tick-box ‘normal’ (whatever that looks like) way of life.

The Membership

How does it work?

There are different elements to the membership and you can choose which is most appropriate based on your requirements:

  • Access all areas (the online forum & live events)
  • The online forum only
  • Live events only

Step away from social media and access the online forum via an app (Heartbeat) on your phone or directly from your desktop.

They say you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket but when you’re part of a supported community and you can get the answers and support you need from one place, it makes your life more efficient.

This community is here to help you personally and professionally.  Whether you want to get feedback or advice on something or perhaps you need to let off some steam, the online forum is the place for you.

Pick my brains!

I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, both personally and professionally.

I’ve worked in the UK and overseas within the corporate and SME industry and I launched my business during the summer of 2017.

As an example, you can ask me questions on starting a business, management, leadership, marketing, sales, pricing, ideas for your business, etc.  We can also talk about the foundations of a business, what’s important, imposter syndrome, shiny object syndrome, setting boundaries, etc.

That’s the professional stuff but I also have a lot of life experience and I can often relate to different situations.  I’m shy and an introvert, I have illnesses, I have been solo parenting since the start of 2018 to a little dude with autism and I understand the importance of work life balance because of all I am juggling.

The online forum is a place for asking for advice, feedback and for general chit-chat.

Channels on the forum include:

  • Welcome – announcements, general chit-chat, etc.
  • Help!! – Feedback corner, no stupid questions, feeling stuck, guest speakers wanted.
  • Accountability – accountability circle, make your ideas a reality.
  •  Professional – networking, sounding board, mission/vision/values, team outsourcing.
  • Social media – generic questions and separate threads for the different platforms.
  • Tech and tools – Canva, favourite tech.
  • Personal – vent, challenging times, proud moments, gift ideas, parenting, friendships, relationships, holidays.
  • Health & wellbeing – health, mental health support, wellbeing ideas, pets.
  • Fun – hobbies, celebrations, share a random photo!

It sounds a lot but over time, these will evolve.

I know what it’s like when you’re in a different time zone and/or you have meetings set on certain days and times that you can’t get out of.

With that in mind, the live events won’t have set days and times, each month they will vary.

The sessions will be relaxed and informal and some will have more of a drop-in approach for you to bring your questions and get feedback.

Events include:

  • Networking happy hour
  • Monthly hot-seat
  • Accountability circle
  • Drop-in Q&A sessions

The sessions will evolve based on your feedback and suggestions.

These sessions are only available to those with access all areas memberships.

Bring a drink, a snack and let’s get to know each other.

This will be informal and relaxed with no 60-second pitch.  It’s all about developing connections and having a break from everything that’s going on around you.

This session is for access all areas members only.

Hot seats are available to those that choose the Access All Areas membership.

Each month, two members will get to be in the “hot seat”.  You will get to talk about 1-2 problems you’re looking to solve, while I and the rest of the community help you to solve those problems.

At the start of each week, we each define a max of 3 goals we’re trying to hit.

Towards the end of the week, post a gif or a comment to represent how far you got on your goals.

We have a catch-up call (for access all areas members) once a month to chat about what’s working, share advice, & support each other

Since we’re just starting this out, this structure might change based on feedback & what’s working well.

Regular sessions will be added to the calendar for you to drop in and ask questions.

How often do you wonder how to do something in Canva or perhaps you’re struggling for social media ideas – this will be the time for you.

You can also ask for live feedback on your social profiles and website.  Of course, time will be limited, so it won’t be in-depth.

Do you ever have those moments where you’re wanting to dig deeper into a conversation thread?

A couple of people are around and you think, I know, let’s have a quick video or voice call about it?  Well, that can all be done within the app!

How cool is that?!!

This feature will only be available to those that join the access all areas membership.

When you connect with people and you build relationships, that’s when the magic happens.

Connection and collaboration is encouraged but only if you want to.

Once members are settled in, via the forum there will be opportunities to match-up with new people on a monthly basis.  You can opt into it and hold each other accountable.

I think it will be a fusion of minds and experience.

I actively welcome your ideas and views.

If you think something would be a great idea or if something doesn’t really work for you, tell me, I won’t be offended.

Over time, I might create a Community Advisory Board for you to drop in an to share your views.

BETA members wanted

You will have access to the pop-up group until Friday, 13 January 2023.  Towards the end, I will be looking for feedback (although feedback is welcome throughout), and testimonials.  Of course, I would love for you to see the value and choose to join up as a paid member at a founders rate.

So, why should you join?

  1. Help shape the future of InclUSIon.
  2. Have a safe space away from social media to ask questions, and gain feedback… it doesn’t matter if you’re a business owner or an employee.
  3. Connect with like-minded people.
  4. Embrace who you really are without fear of judgement.  I’m not a fan of labels but I have quite a few attached to me… solo parenting, invisible illnesses, quirky (I’m in the process of finding out if I’m neurodiverse like my little dude), introvert and I could list many more.
  5. You want to feel valued rather than a number.
  6. You’re feeling frustrated and overwhelmed – although that’s not a prerequisite.
  7. Let’s be honest, you’re curious and you’re thinking if nothing else, it’s free and you’re going to come away with free advice and ideas!

Me + You = US

Me

I’m a Mentor and Strategist with a lot of life and business experience.  I’ve often been described as ‘quirky’ and I have a neurodiverse child.  I also balance running my business with health issues and solo parenting.

I’m left and right-brained and with that comes creativity, strategic and analytical thinking with a sprinkling of practicality.

My strength lies in helping people realise their potential, coming up with ideas you might never have considered, challenging you in a way that makes you think and having genuine empathy for what you’re experiencing.

You

You want to be part of a community where you feel valued for who you really are.  A space where there is no B.S. and people are honest and straight-talking, rather than all the hype you see online about how amazing life is.

That’s not to say your life isn’t amazing but it’s amazing on your terms!

But then again, you maybe you are struggling because right now, life is tough and you want to feel comfortable being yourself without feeling judged.

Whatever your situation, you’re joining because you’re determined, you want to take action and connect with awesome people.

US

As individuals, we’re awesome but imagine what we can gain by coming together in unity.

TEAM = Team Everyone Achieves More

There are so many benefits from being part of a supportive community:

  • Feeling valued
  • Diverse people offering different perspectives
  • Developing new friendships
  • Being held accountable
  • Problem-solving opportunities
  • Personal & professional learning
  • A safe space to be yourself

Frequently Asked Questions

Social media can be a huge distraction and everyone uses different platforms.  Although Slack is great, Heartbeat is a more intuitive piece of software and it works better for this community.

This group is for everyone, after all, it wouldn’t be very inclusive if I said it was for a particular type of person.

Whether you’re employed, run your own business or you’re not working but you want a safe space to seek ideas and inspiration, get invoolved.

There is a 14-day free trial, you’re welcome to cancel during/after that.

It’s up to you if you sign up for 1 year or on a month-by-month basis but payment is required in advance.

This is down to you, it depends on what you put into the group.

The more you put in, the more you get out of it.  If you’re more likely to watch from the sidelines rather than get involved in the conversation, your experience won’t be as good but it doesn’t mean to say you won’t learn from it.

That’s why there are different membership options.  We’re all different, some people want the full interactive experience, others will only want access to the forum and then there are those of you that will want to access some live events but not all, that’s why there are 3 different options.

You want to feel part of a community where your voice is heard, listened to and supported.  A place where you’re valued for who you are and what you stand for… being YOU!

You will connect with other people in the group and feel encouraged by people who ‘get you’ and understand that life isn’t always about the 2:4 lifestyle.
